Last week Mark was chatting with Max (Atta Kid) and Joe (Otis McDonald) outside The Chapel in San Francisco about how Thursday night is THE night to go out and see the best live music. The fellas then went out and got the crowd moving with a great Otis live show opening for Strike Iron (Joe, busting two guitar strings at the same time). Thus proving, Thursday is the New Friday.
double0one Celebrates A Year of Great Music
All of us here at ARC Law Group want to give a special shout out to Cyril and Boris at double0one on the one year anniversary of the first double0one Session held at 25th Street Recording studios in Oakland. 14 sessions, 400 guests, 100 musicians and 30 hours of recorded music. Right on!
For those not familiar, double0one brings musicians and fans together for a unique experience in the studio. Fans (many of whom have never been in a recording studio) get to watch, up close and personal, as the bands record.
We look forward to celebrating with you tonight at the latest Session with Mino Yanci + Sol Development.
Front Country Nominated For An IBMA Award
Tonight, we find out if our friends from Front Country take home the prestigious Emerging Artist of the Year Award form the International Bluegrass Music Association. The show starts at 7:30 EST and can be live-streamed on the IBMA Facebook page. The show is hosted by Bela Fleck and Abigail Washington and Front Country will be performing live.
Front Country is not your typical bluegrass band, as they mix pop and a little soul into their brand of acoustic joy. Plus, their vocal harmonies are like candy for your ears.
Good luck tonight to Jacob, Melody, Adam, Jeremy and Lief. We think you’re great (admittedly, we’re biased).
Everyone is Dirty Drops My Neon’s Dead
Oakland’s own, Everyone if Dirty, celebrates the release of their new album My Neon’s Dead (OIM Records) by hitting the stage at Rickshaw Stop tonight at 9:15 pm as part of Sea Witch Fest. EID’s live show is an adventure. Sivan, who reminds us of Dale Bozzio, is fun to watch on stage, and Chris, Tony and Tyler are a tight trio.
Should you make it out to tonight, look for me. If you can’t, they play again in San Francisco on October 28th at Bottom of the Hill, where the band will channel Michael Jackson (not a joke).
Speaking of adventures, have you seen EID’s video for the single, Mermaid:
Free Legal Workshop on September 25, 2017
Thank you to everyone who came out the ARC Law Group Workshop at Different Fur Studios this past Monday. It was great meeting so many motivated musicians and discussing making music your business. A special thanks to Lien and Jorge at Different Fur, and Jake and Zach from Modern Future for buying Mark a drink after the event. We look forward to hosting another free legal workshop soon.
